    Location: Traverse City, MI – Northwestern Michigan College

    This unique and comprehensive, instructor-led training course is taught by experts in the fields of Aviation and GIS. Participants will learn how to effectively and legally deploy drones and process imagery data for real-world applications. Participants will leave the course with a clear understanding of the Drone-to-GIS workflow, including planning and completing missions, processing data and analyzing said data in GIS. During the course, participants will complete the following:

    • Plan autonomous drone missions using inexpensive, yet powerful planning software
    • Fly multi-rotor drones manually and autonomously
    • Learn how to process imagery into usable products, such as image mosaics, surface models and indices using Pix4D software
    • Learn the basics of visible and near-infrared (VNIR) remote sensing
    • Generate 3D surface products, complete volumetric surveys and create vegetation indices
    • Ground truth information using Collector for ArcGIS

    Before taking the course, it is recommended (though not required) that users have a basic level of GIS understanding and experience operating quadcopter drones.

    Length: 2 days

    Fee: $700

    Note: No prior experience required.

    27th Annual IMAGIN Conference
    Sunday Beer and Wine Tasting Bus Tour
    Sunday, June 17, 2018  3:30 PM

    Join your fellow IMAGIN Conference attendees as they travel on a motor coach to either the Rove Estate Winery or Brewery Terra Firma in the Traverse City area.  After the tastings, participants will be picked up and travel to the Blue Tractor BBQ in downtown Traverse City for dinner, before heading back to the Park Place Hotel and the Top of the Park for the night.  Space is limited and guests are welcome and pre-registration is required.

    Your registration fee includes round trip transportation to either Rove Estate Winery or Brewery Terra Firma, and to the Blue Tractor BBQ and back to the hotel.  Any tasting fees and dinner will be at the attendees own expense.

    Please note that dinner at the Blue Tractor BBQ will be a set $20/per person and will include a pared down menu with 3-4 entree choices, sides, salad and soft drink.

    Are you heading to San Diego this summer for the ESRI User Conference? Be sure to join us at the 7th Annual “Michigan Meetup”! This year’s event will once again be held at Joe’s Crab Shack on the water directly behind the San Diego Convention Center. We have a reservation for 50 on Tuesday, July 10th @ 6pm.
